The Show! is an Austin-based organization that puts on monthly events designed “to connect audiences with filmmakers in order to expand the visibility and viability of film in Texas and to entertain and enlighten audiences about the amazing talent of Texas filmmakers, comedians, and all the entertainment arts.”
The lineup for their June 9th show at the stately Stateside at the Paramount offers a comedy cornucopia for only ten bones with Ramin Nazer (the newly-crowned 2012 Funniest Person in Austin), sketch sensation and TNM stalwarts Spirit Desire, and a trio of tremendous Texas-made film shorts. This evening is an awesome opportunity to catch a cross-section of the New Capital of Funny’s bricolage.

The Man Who Never Cried: By Bradley Jackson
Ralph Winston has never cried; not when he was a baby, not when his heart was crushed by his high school sweetheart, not even when he first saw Stephen Spielberg’s E.T. So when his father dies, Ralph – at the age of 32 – decides to embark upon a true emotional journey with hopes to shed his first tear before the funeral – and before it’s too late. Similar to films like Big Fish and Amelie, The Man Who Never Cried is a modern day fable that plumbs the depth of human emotion by showcasing equal amounts of hilarity and heart break. It’ll make you laugh, think – it might even make you cry.
