In Austin, one plus of a Thursday holiday might be the fact that our beloved Austin Chronicle is released a day early. Low and behold, the rare Wednesday issue is packed with a literal army of ATX comedy notables who, coincidentally, are all flatmates. They’re the effing cover.
The Chronicle article, covered in detail by comedy guru Wayne Alan Brenner, features interviews with local stand-ups Seth Cockfield, Ruby Collins, Chris Cubas, Jake Flores, Kat Ramzinski, 2011 Funniest Person in Austin, Andy Ritchie, and more. Comedian Joe Staats is even the building manager, which explains the overflow of talent occupying the two complexes on Manor Road.
You can read Brenner’s in-depth story here, a bit of funny stuffing for your holiday weekend. Strength in numbers: it’s good for morale.
